In 2016, the festival received an extraordinary 43,101 award entries, prompting industry discussion about category structure and volume. Under the leadership of Managing Director Jose Papa at Lions Festivals, significant changes were introduced for 2017. A streamlined 10-point entry checklist and restructured award categories were implemented to simplify submissions and enhance the overall judging process.
