Nestled in the elegant seaside town of Beaulieu-sur-Mer, between Nice and Monaco, Villa Kérylos stands as one of the French Riviera’s most extraordinary cultural landmarks. This refined resort has long attracted royalty, film stars and political figures drawn by its sheltered coastline, luminous light and enviable Mediterranean climate.
Perched above the sea on the Baie des Fourmis, Villa Kérylos is a unique architectural masterpiece inspired by the noble houses of ancient Greece. Built at the beginning of the 20th century, the villa was conceived as a meticulous recreation of a Greek residence from the 2nd century BC, combining archaeological accuracy with Belle Époque craftsmanship. Every column, mosaic and fresco reflects a deep reverence for classical antiquity.
In 1966, Villa Kérylos was officially listed as a historic monument, recognising its exceptional architectural and cultural value. From January 2016, the villa came under the management of the Centre des monuments nationaux (CMN), becoming the 99th national monument in France to be overseen by this prestigious institution. This transition marked an important chapter in the preservation and promotion of Villa Kérylos, ensuring its continued protection as one of the Riviera’s cultural jewels.
Today, Villa Kérylos offers visitors a rare opportunity to step into an idealised vision of ancient Greece while enjoying sweeping views across the Mediterranean. Its harmonious blend of history, scholarship and Riviera elegance makes it an essential visit for anyone exploring Beaulieu-sur-Mer.
Beyond the glamour of nearby coastal resorts, Villa Kérylos embodies a quieter, more intellectual dimension of the French Riviera — one rooted in culture, artistry and timeless Mediterranean beauty.

Traditionally, Monaco and the Cote d’Azur have been the places to be seen on-board a luxury yacht, yet fashions are changing; nowadays, you’re just as likely to drop anchor next to a Hollywood actor or sporting superstar on Croatia’s Adriatic Coast or Spain’s Balearic Islands as you are on the glitzy Côte d’Azur.
Today, yachting enthusiasts are spoilt for choice when it comes to glamorous locations that are best discovered from the water. Over the last few decades, the industry has opened up to not just new destinations but also new ways to enjoy cruising the seas.
One such example is fractional yacht ownership, which allows more than one party to have a share in a vessel. Since a yacht is a valuable asset and demands significant investment, without even mentioning the costs necessary to maintain it, fractional ownership offers a financially viable solution. For many who would prefer not to charter every year but cannot justify the outlay required to purchase a yacht outright, co-ownership offers the opportunity to realise your dream.
SmartYacht offers fractional yacht ownership in some of yachting’s most desired destinations: the Mediterranean and the Seychelles. Their fleet include some of the most renowned names in yacht design, including Feretti, Azimut, Sunseeker, Princess and Pershing.
Based in Mallorca, the largest of Spain’s Balearic Islands, SmartYacht’s M/Y PERSHING 76’ combines the speed of a powerboat with the amenities of a luxury yacht. The yacht boasts impressive top speeds of 47 knots – perfect for zipping between the islands of the Balearics when you fancy a lunch of freshly caught seafood in Menorca and an evening spent dancing the night away in Ibiza’s world-famous clubs.
Yet none of the comfort on-board has been compromised. With two permanent crew members – a captain and stewardess – the yacht can accommodate eight guests in four tastefully decorated staterooms, offering light and spacious interiors and generous exterior space. Special features include a tender, toys and sunbeds on the foredeck.
SmartYacht’s service will make you feel as if this yacht is your private domain: from provisioning the yacht with your food and drink preferences before you arrive to securely storing your personal effects on-board after you depart, awaiting your next visit.
With a maximum of three owners and an online reservation system to fairly allocate usage, the M/Y PERSHING 76’ is ideal for families or groups of friends that are looking to enjoy the benefits that yacht ownership brings, without the responsibility and expense of sole ownership.
Tennis Courts at Monte-Carlo Country Club overlooking luxury yachts in the bay of Monaco
Perched dramatically above the Mediterranean on the edge of the Principality, the Monte-Carlo Country Club is one of the most spectacular sporting venues in Europe. Overlooking the glittering coastline between Monaco and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, and just moments from the legendary Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo, the Monte-Carlo Country Club combines Riviera glamour, world-class tennis and refined leisure in a setting that is simply unparalleled.
From its elevated terraces, the club gazes out across the endless blue of the Mediterranean Sea. Palatial villas and majestic Belle Époque apartment buildings cling to the pine-fringed cliffs, while cooling sea breezes drift across the terracotta courts below. Few sporting arenas in the world can rival the natural theatre of the Monte-Carlo Country Club, where the drama of professional tennis unfolds against a cinematic coastal backdrop.
A Storied Legacy on the French Riviera
The Monte-Carlo Country Club is steeped in history. Since the late 19th century, it has been home to one of the most prestigious clay-court tournaments in the world. Generations of tennis legends have competed here, cementing the club’s reputation as a cornerstone of international tennis.
Icons such as Boris Becker, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Rafael Nadal have all graced its courts. Nadal, in particular, has become synonymous with Monte-Carlo, dominating the tournament during the golden era of modern clay-court tennis.
Since 2000, the tournament has formed part of the ATP Masters 1000 circuit under the official title Monte-Carlo Masters. Known for sponsorship reasons as the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, this glittering spring event opens the European clay season and is a highlight of both the global tennis calendar and the Riviera social season. Each April, the Monte-Carlo Country Club transforms into a glamorous hub where sport, society and spectacle converge.
World-Class Tennis Facilities
At the heart of the Monte-Carlo Country Club lies its exceptional tennis infrastructure. The club boasts 21 clay courts and 2 hard courts, arranged in a striking ‘staircase’ formation cascading towards the sea. This unique layout not only maximises views but creates an amphitheatre-like atmosphere during major tournaments.
Of the clay courts, two are covered, ensuring year-round play, while nine are floodlit for evening matches under the Riviera sky. The signature red clay surface, meticulously maintained, offers the perfect stage for both competitive play and leisurely rallies.
For members and guests seeking to refine their technique, the Monte-Carlo Country Club provides professional coaching, private lessons and structured training programmes. Competitive players can participate in internal tournaments and club championships, while juniors benefit from structured development pathways. Whether aspiring to compete or simply wishing to improve consistency and footwork, players of all levels are catered for with exceptional professionalism.

Beyond Tennis: A Complete Lifestyle Destination
While tennis remains the defining feature of the Monte-Carlo Country Club, its appeal extends far beyond the baseline. The club is designed as a holistic sporting and social destination, blending fitness, wellness and leisure.
Two squash courts provide additional competitive outlets, while yoga classes are held on a graceful columned terrace overlooking the sea. Practising sun salutations with the Mediterranean shimmering below is an experience that encapsulates the Riviera lifestyle.
The state-of-the-art gym is equipped with modern strength and cardio facilities, attracting members who value both performance and aesthetics. Personal training services are also available for tailored fitness programmes.
One of the club’s most striking features is its mirrored swimming pool, an architectural gem that reflects the surrounding pines and sky. Here, members can enjoy aqua-gym sessions, swimming lessons or simply relax poolside in understated elegance. Adjacent wellness facilities include a sumptuous spa offering massage treatments, providing the perfect recovery after a demanding match on clay.
Golf enthusiasts can work on their technique, while more leisurely pursuits such as snooker and bridge ensure the Monte-Carlo Country Club remains a true country club in the traditional sense — a place for both sport and sociability.
Dining and Social Life
The social dimension of the Monte-Carlo Country Club is as refined as its sporting credentials. After an invigorating match, members may dine at one of the two clubhouse restaurants, where Mediterranean cuisine is served in elegant surroundings. Seasonal ingredients, fresh seafood and classic Riviera dishes define the menus.
The club bar offers a relaxed yet sophisticated setting for cocktails and post-match celebrations. During the Monte-Carlo Masters, the atmosphere becomes electric, with players, celebrities and long-standing members mingling beneath the Côte d’Azur sun.
An on-site Pro Shop ensures players are fully equipped with premium tennis apparel and equipment. In keeping with tradition, appropriate tennis attire is required on court — clay-suitable shoes and predominantly white clothing remain the standard, preserving the timeless elegance of the club.

Monte-Carlo Country Club
An Icon of Riviera Elegance
Few venues encapsulate the spirit of the Côte d’Azur quite like the Monte-Carlo Country Club. Its cliff-top position, storied tournament heritage and comprehensive leisure facilities make it far more than a tennis club. It is a cultural landmark, a sporting sanctuary and a social institution.

Old Town Antibes — known locally as Vieil Antibes — is one of the French Riviera’s most atmospheric historic quarters and a vibrant coastal hub that perfectly captures the spirit of the Côte d’Azur. Enclosed by centuries-old ramparts and overlooking the shimmering Mediterranean, Old Town Antibes blends Provençal heritage, maritime prestige and summer energy in a way few destinations can match. Its maze of narrow cobbled streets, sun-washed façades, bustling markets and lively café terraces create a setting that feels both authentically historic and unmistakably Riviera.
A FORTIFIED TOWN BY THE SEA
The history of Old Town Antibes stretches back over two millennia, when the Greeks established the settlement of Antipolis as a trading post. Over centuries of Roman rule, medieval conflict and royal expansion, the town grew into a strategic coastal stronghold. Today, the massive stone ramparts that encircle Vieil Antibes remain one of its defining features, offering panoramic views across the sea and towards the distant Alps.
Walking along these fortifications is one of the most memorable experiences in Old Town Antibes. On one side lie the terracotta rooftops, church towers and winding lanes of the historic centre; on the other, the vast blue horizon of the Mediterranean. The contrast between land and sea underscores Antibes’ enduring identity as both a fortified town and a maritime gateway.
At the southern edge of the walls stands Fort Carré, a star-shaped fortress built in the 16th century to defend the coastline. Its elevated position provides sweeping views over Port Vauban and Cap d’Antibes, reinforcing the strategic importance the town once held — and still holds — within the region.
THE HEART OF PROVENÇAL LIFE
Inside the ramparts, Old Town Antibes reveals a different rhythm: intimate, colourful and distinctly Provençal. Narrow lanes twist between pastel-painted buildings, opening suddenly onto shaded squares filled with fountains, bougainvillea and café tables. Laundry hangs from wrought-iron balconies, while small artisan shops display ceramics, linens, soaps and regional delicacies.
At the centre of this daily life lies the famous Marché Provençal, one of the most beloved markets on the French Riviera. Beneath its covered hall, stalls overflow with seasonal produce, fragrant herbs, olives, cheeses, cured meats and fresh seafood. Local farmers and producers bring the flavours of Provence directly to the heart of Old Town Antibes, creating an experience that engages every sense.
In the warmer months, the market square transforms in the evening into a lively dining area, where restaurants set up tables under the arcades and the air fills with the aromas of grilled fish, garlic and herbs. It is a quintessential Riviera scene — relaxed, convivial and deeply rooted in tradition.
PORT VAUBAN — A WORLD-CLASS MARINA
While the historic streets evoke centuries past, the waterfront of Old Town Antibes tells a story of modern maritime prestige. Port Vauban, located immediately beside the old town walls, is the largest marina in the Mediterranean and one of the most renowned yachting harbours in the world.
Home to hundreds of vessels ranging from classic sailing boats to some of the planet’s most spectacular superyachts, Port Vauban plays a central role in the global yachting industry. The marina’s “Billionaires’ Quay” regularly hosts yachts of astonishing scale, their sleek silhouettes forming a dramatic contrast with the medieval skyline behind them.
Surrounding the port is a thriving ecosystem of yacht brokers, chandlers, refit specialists and marine service companies. This concentration of expertise has established Old Town Antibes as a key operational hub for yacht owners, captains and crew, particularly during the busy summer season when vessels traverse the Mediterranean.
Yet despite its status as a centre of luxury maritime activity, the port remains accessible to visitors. Promenades along the quays offer close-up views of the yachts, while waterfront cafés provide the perfect vantage point for watching the constant movement of boats entering and leaving the harbour.
A CALENDAR OF NAUTICAL CELEBRATIONS
Old Town Antibes comes fully alive during the summer months, when festivals and events celebrate the town’s deep connection to the sea. Among the most prestigious is Les Voiles d’Antibes, an annual regatta that fills the bay with magnificent classic sailing yachts. These beautifully restored vessels glide past the ramparts under full sail, evoking the golden age of maritime elegance.
Another highlight is Antibes Celebrates Yachting, which showcases brokerage yachts, new technologies and innovations within the marine industry. The event draws professionals and enthusiasts from around the world, reinforcing the town’s importance within the international yachting community.
Traditional celebrations also play a vital role in preserving local identity. The Fête de la Saint Pierre, dedicated to the patron saint of fishermen, honours Antibes’ long maritime heritage with processions, music and ceremonies that blend religious devotion with festive spirit.
A TIMELESS RIVIERA DESTINATION
What makes Old Town Antibes truly special is the seamless coexistence of past and present. Medieval walls protect lively streets filled with contemporary boutiques and restaurants. Fishing traditions endure alongside the ultra-modern world of superyachts. Cultural heritage merges effortlessly with the relaxed glamour of the French Riviera.
By day, visitors can explore museums, browse markets or stroll the ramparts. By evening, the town transforms into a vibrant social scene, with terraces buzzing, musicians performing in squares and the golden light of sunset reflecting off the harbour waters.
Its central location between Nice and Cannes makes Old Town Antibes easily accessible, yet it retains a character distinct from both — less frenetic than its glamorous neighbours, more intimate and deeply rooted in history.
For travellers, sailors and Riviera regulars alike, Old Town Antibes offers an experience that is both authentic and exhilarating. It is a place where every stone tells a story, every street invites exploration and every view reminds visitors why this stretch of coastline has captivated people for centuries.
With its fortified heritage, Provençal soul and world-class marina, Old Town Antibes stands not only as one of the most beautiful historic quarters on the Côte d’Azur but also as one of its most influential maritime centres — a destination where tradition, culture and luxury meet beside the endless blue of the Mediterranean.
Cannes is widely regarded as the definitive French Riviera resort, synonymous with magnificent seafront hotels, designer boutiques, luxurious superyachts and globally renowned cultural and business events. From the glamour of the Cannes Film Festival to international gatherings such as MIPCOM, Cannes Lions, MIPIM and ILTM, the city pulses with prestige and influence.
Much of this activity centres around the iconic Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, along with luxury shopping on rue d’Antibes and the palm-lined Boulevard de la Croisette. Yet beyond the red carpets and designer storefronts lies another side of Cannes — quieter, more intimate, and deeply authentic.
To the west of the city centre, rising gently above the Old Port, the hill of Mont Chevalier is home to Le Suquet in Cannes, the city’s historic quarter. This charming enclave offers a striking contrast to the polished glamour below. Narrow cobbled streets wind between pastel-coloured houses, ivy-clad façades and traditional Provençal restaurants. Here, life moves at a gentler pace, echoing the fishing village origins from which Cannes first emerged.
At the summit of Le Suquet, visitors are rewarded with panoramic views across Cannes’ harbour, the Lérins Islands and the glittering Mediterranean. The historic Église Notre-Dame d’Espérance and the remains of the medieval château stand as reminders of Cannes’ rich heritage long before the era of film stars and superyachts.
Exploring Le Suquet in Cannes reveals a layered identity — one that balances international glamour with Provençal authenticity. Whether wandering through its shaded alleyways, enjoying a leisurely dinner overlooking the port, or simply pausing to admire the terracotta rooftops cascading toward the sea, Le Suquet offers a sublime and timeless perspective on Cannes.
For those seeking depth beyond the Croisette, Le Suquet is the soul of Cannes — a place where history, culture and quiet elegance endure above the sparkle of the Riviera.
Walks on the French Riviera offer the perfect way to experience one of Europe’s most diverse and breathtaking landscapes. Whether you’re a casual stroller seeking scenic coastal paths or an ardent hiker looking for rewarding climbs, the South of France provides exceptional walking opportunities year-round, combining natural beauty with cultural richness and effortless accessibility.
From the elegant Promenade des Anglais in Nice to the palm-lined boulevards of Cannes, the coastline sets the tone for relaxed Mediterranean walking. Seaside promenades overlook luminous turquoise waters, while the celebrated sentiers du littoral — coastal footpaths — wind around rocky peninsulas and hidden coves. On the Cap d’Antibes or around Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, walkers follow gentle trails that reveal secluded beaches, dramatic limestone cliffs, and grand villas framed by umbrella pines.
Beyond the shore, the Riviera landscape unfolds into rolling hills and forested slopes scented with pine, rosemary, and wild thyme. In winter, hillsides glow with golden mimosa; in spring, wildflowers brighten ancient stone paths that climb towards perched villages such as Èze and Saint-Paul-de-Vence. These elevated walks reward gentle effort with sweeping panoramas across the Mediterranean, where sea and sky merge on the horizon.
Just inland, the terrain rises more dramatically into the foothills of the Alps. Here, shaded Mediterranean oak forests and cool river valleys provide refreshing summer walks, while higher routes open onto expansive alpine scenery. Within easy reach of the coast, the protected landscapes of Mercantour National Park offer pristine mountain trails, glacial lakes, and a sense of tranquil wilderness that contrasts beautifully with the Riviera’s glamorous shoreline.
Each walk on the French Riviera reveals a different facet of this remarkable region — sea, mountains, and countryside seamlessly combined within a remarkably compact area. One morning might be spent strolling along a coastal path with the sound of waves below; the next could involve a scenic ascent through olive groves and terraced vineyards, or a peaceful ramble beside a mountain stream.
With its mild climate, well-marked trails, and spectacular views in every season, the French Riviera is one of the finest destinations in Europe for walking holidays. Spring and autumn offer ideal temperatures and luminous light, while winter brings clear skies and blooming mimosa. Even summer, when the coast hums with life, provides shaded forest trails and higher-altitude routes for cooler exploration.
Whether you prefer gentle coastal strolls, cultural walks linking historic villages, or challenging mountain hikes with dramatic elevation, there is a walk on the French Riviera to suit every pace and passion. Walking here is not merely an activity — it is the most intimate way to experience the South of France, step by unhurried step.

Moyenne Corniche
This road was cut through the rock in the 1920s and takes drivers from the seaside town of Nice past the Col de Villefranche to Menton. It was constructed to provide for an increase in aristocratic tourism to the French Riviera in the 1910s and 20s. On this gorgeous road you’ll drive alongside the cliffs and enjoy breath-taking views of the coast. Stop in Eze, a tiny medieval village perched on a rocky peak that is a jewel in the crown of the French Riviera.
This is a beautiful road for enjoying glimpses of the coastline of Southern France, so take your time and allow yourself the chance to stop at many parking areas to observe the gorgeous views and glimpse the amazing luxury yachts at anchor.
The Col de la Bonette
The Col de la Bonette
The most amazing road to drive in Southern France is the Col de la Bonette – a famous route through the Alps that is among the highest mountain roads in Europe. As spectacular as the road is, it is actually quite a smooth and pleasant drive. The road surface is well maintained and the gentle sweeping cures of the road are easy to follow. As you climb up from sea level to the higher altitudes you will find yourself leaving the greenery and entering a barren, almost volcanic landscape. At the peak of the route you will have climbed to an altitude of 2807 m.
The road descending the Col de la Bonette is a little more thrilling, feeling more like a race circuit than a normal driving route.
If you’re looking to take in the road as part of a driving holiday, why not include a stay in nearby Nice or Monaco? The Lamborghini Gallardo, with all its power, is a great vehicle by which to summit the road.
La Grande Corniche
This picturesque drive takes you between Nice and Marseille on a stunning sea view route between the two. La Grande Corniche hugs the coastline of the glittering blue Mediterranean and was called the “World’s Most Romantic Road” by The Independent. The road was designed by the L’Ecole des Ponts et Chaussees, in order to provide for the ambition Italian campaign of Napoleon in 1796.
The most beautiful section of the road comes between Eze and Nice, where you will be able to see the jagged Alps in the background, the endless blue sea and the Maures Massif.
Why not take one of these French Riviera driving routes through the stunning scenery in Southern France – an adventure on four wheels that will thrill and enchant you.

Exclusive yacht parties continue long after the chequered flag falls, attracting celebrities, team principals, drivers and the international jet-set. Be sure to secure a table at Amber Lounge, the star-studded club founded by Sonia Irvine, which hosts some of the most sought-after after-parties of the weekend. The legendary Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc is the ultimate expression of Riviera glamour — a temple to luxury set on the breathtaking Cap d’Antibes peninsula between Nice and Cannes. Surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and commanding panoramic views across the Mediterranean, this iconic property represents the definitive five-star experience on the French Riviera.
The hotel is composed of two distinct and equally magnificent buildings: the grand, palatial Hôtel du Cap and the elegant, seafront Eden-Roc Pavilion. Both offer lavish rooms and suites designed with refined sophistication, complemented by impeccable service that sets global standards for hospitality.
Dining at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc is an experience in itself. The renowned Eden-Roc Restaurant has been recognised among the world’s finest by Elite Traveller, while the stylish Grill by the pool offers a more relaxed yet effortlessly glamorous setting. Guests can sip champagne at the hotel’s chic bar overlooking the sea or unwind at the exquisite Sisley Spa, where indulgence reaches new heights.
World-famous and eternally associated with the glamour of the Cannes Film Festival, Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc remains far more than a celebrity retreat. It is widely regarded as the most iconic luxury hotel on the French Riviera — and quite simply, one of the finest hotels anywhere in the world.
French Riviera helicopters offer one of the most spectacular ways to experience the Côte d’Azur. Widely regarded as one of the most beautiful regions in the world, the French Riviera reveals an entirely new perspective when viewed from the air. While the approach into Nice Airport is already breathtaking, nothing compares to soaring above the coastline in a helicopter, taking in panoramic views of sparkling Mediterranean waters, glamorous ports and dramatic mountain backdrops.
Regular French Riviera helicopter transfers operate between Nice Airport, Monaco, Cannes and Saint-Tropez, dramatically reducing travel times while delivering unforgettable scenery. In peak summer, a road journey from Cannes to Saint-Tropez can take several hours due to heavy traffic — by helicopter, the same journey takes less than 20 minutes, with magnificent aerial views over the Esterel Mountains. The helicopter transfer from Nice Airport to Monaco takes just six minutes, making it both a time-saving and stylish arrival option.
Surprisingly, French Riviera helicopters are also competitively priced. Transfers from Nice Airport to Monaco start at approximately €130 per person — often only slightly more than a private taxi — yet offer far greater comfort, speed and an unforgettable Riviera experience. Whether for convenience, efficiency or simply the thrill of flying above one of Europe’s most glamorous coastlines, helicopter travel is an exceptional way to discover the French Riviera.
A French Riviera yacht charter is the ultimate way to experience the glamour, beauty and prestige of the Côte d’Azur — and you don’t need to be a billionaire to enjoy it. While luxury yachts are synonymous with the French Riviera lifestyle, vessels of all sizes are available to rent for a day, a week or longer, with options to suit almost every budget. From a sleek 20-metre motor yacht for a sun-soaked day on the water to a spectacular 50-metre superyacht for a two-week family holiday, there is a French Riviera yacht charter perfectly matched to your needs.
As one of the most famous stretches of coastline in the world, the French Riviera is best experienced from the sea. Imagine arriving in iconic ports such as Cannes, Monaco and Saint-Tropez aboard your own private yacht, welcomed by a professional crew dedicated exclusively to you and your guests. No other style of travel offers the same level of privacy, flexibility and refined indulgence — where you can enjoy breakfast in Antibes, lunch at anchor off Cap Ferrat and dinner in Monte-Carlo, all in a single unforgettable day.
Every French Riviera yacht charter comes fully crewed, delivering service comparable to the world’s finest five-star hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants. From gourmet dining on deck to seamless marina reservations and exclusive beach club access, every detail is handled with precision and discretion.
To ensure the perfect experience, book your French Riviera yacht charter with a specialist charter broker. With expert local knowledge and established contacts across the Côte d’Azur, they will craft a bespoke itinerary, secure prime berths in the most sought-after ports, and arrange reservations at the region’s most prestigious restaurants and beach clubs — guaranteeing a truly exceptional yachting experience.
A St Tropez villa rental is the ultimate way to experience a luxury Côte d’Azur holiday. For travellers seeking privacy, space and effortless glamour, renting a villa in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez offers the perfect base from which to explore this iconic stretch of the French Riviera. From the glittering superyachts and waterfront restaurants lining the Port of Saint-Tropez to the legendary beach clubs of Plage de Pampelonne, the area captures everything that makes the Riviera world-famous.
The finest St Tropez villa rentals are located in the heart of Saint-Tropez itself or in the surrounding prestigious enclaves of Ramatuelle, Pampelonne, Gassin and La Croix-Valmer. These properties often feature panoramic sea views, expansive terraces, private pools and beautifully landscaped gardens — ideal for relaxing before heading out to enjoy the region’s vibrant nightlife and beach scene.
While a luxury St Tropez villa rental represents a premium experience, there are properties available across a range of price points. For the best value, consider travelling in June or September. These months on either side of the high season offer superb weather, warm Mediterranean waters and a more relaxed atmosphere, without the peak summer crowds of July and August. Whether for a family holiday, a group of friends or a romantic escape, a St Tropez villa rental delivers privacy, comfort and the ultimate Riviera lifestyle.
TFWA Cannes is an annual prestigious show held at the Palais des Festivals et Congrès for established and emerging brands in the competitive duty free and travel retail sector, with many participants choosing the show to launch exclusive ‘world first’ products.
TFWA Cannes 2015 is scheduled for 18-23 October 2015 and has already received 460 pre-registrations from exhibitors who will be competing for the attention of travel retail buyers, distributors and media. This year, the registrations include 6 yachts moored beside the Palais that are part of the TFWA Cannes 2015 Exhibition.
Exhibition participants get the opportunity to forge industry networks, showcase their brand and attend talks and seminars from leading global thinkers.
We have compiled this article with tips and advice for participants attending TFWA Cannes 2015 – enjoy the show!
What to expect for TFWA Cannes 2015
Registrations for TFWA Cannes 2015 are continuing to add up, and exhibitor numbers are expected to match – or exceed – 2014’s figures. While online pre-registration is now closed (you can still register onsite in Cannes) this strong push in participants proves the value of this trade event.
The duty free and travel retail market has not been entirely rosy over the past year or so with many global influencing factors affecting the growth rate of the sector. Some of these factors include changing consumer preferences in Asia (particularly China), political instability (again in Asia), the collapse of the Russian rouble following the Ukraine crisis and falling commodity prices, and online shopping trends.
Newcomers
The good news is 40 companies are first-time exhibitors at TFWA Cannes 2015 or returning after an absence; newcomers include Roberto Cavalli, Diesel, Freixenet, and Crystal Head Vodka, with returns from Elizabeth Arden and Ermenegildo Zegna to name a few.
As expected, wine and spirit exhibitors will feature strongly with new products and entrance into a competitive market. Look for Champagne Drappier, who are recognising the nomadic tendencies of consumers to travel and branching out into duty free and Rossi D’Asiago’s century-old recipe that ends up as Antica Sambuca Classic.
Sporting and social events
The Sunday before the event will feature a charity run on the Croisette, a pétanque competition and charity golf tournament.
Sunday evening is the invitation-only Opening Cocktail at the Carlton Hotel rounded off with a fireworks display.
From Monday 19 to Thursday 22 October, The Scene at the Gare Maritime hosts DJ’s and a place for attendees to let down their hair! You must show your event badge.
On Thursday 22 October, the action moves to Port Pierre Canto in the evening for the invitation-only Le Premium Evening where you can enjoy a top-class dinner followed by a show by Cirque Eloize.
Conferences and workshops
TFWA Cannes 2015 will feature world-class speakers that will discuss business and geopolitical insight relevant to the market.
This year, the main conference session will be held on Monday 19 October and conference keynote speakers will be former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen and Peter Long, Joint CEO of TUI Group. TUI is the world’s largest leisure, travel and tourism company and operates several airlines, hundreds of hotels plus a dozen cruise ships.
A free Market Watch breakfast workshop will be hosted at the Majestic Hotel on Tuesday 20 October with the focus on South Korea, the world’s largest single duty free and travel retail market whose airport and downtown sectors are flourishing thanks in part to a surge in Chinese visitors and allocation of duty free licenses.
On Wednesday 21 October, two workshops will discuss the challenges of inflight retail ( Inflight Focus workshop) and findings from research studies (TFWA Research).
Delegates are requested to pre-register for the workshops by emailing conference@tfwa.com

The Principality of Monaco is one of the most popular ports of call on any south of France yacht cruise. This tiny country is renowned as one of the most glamorous yachting destinations in the Mediterranean and fans of gastronomy will not be disappointed, with everything from 3 Star Michelin cuisine to simple hearty Mediterranean food on offer in Monaco’s restaurants. Monaco is home to some legendary restaurants including the 3 Star Alain Ducasse at the Hotel de Paris in Casino Square and the 2 Star Joël Robuchon at The Metropole in Monte-Carlo. In this article, we are going to focus on three of the best restaurants in Monaco which we highly recommend visiting when in town on a luxury yacht charter!
The Blue Bay is located in the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort on Avenue Princesse Grace in the Larvotto beach area of Monaco. Whilst this large hotel very much has a Vegas feel to it, this restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and is something of an oasis of calm in the middle of Monaco. Chef Marcel Ravin hails from Martinique in the French Caribbean and has brought to Monaco his unique take on traditional French cuisine with strong Caribbean and Asian influences. Delightful flavours abound and the style of cuisine is perfectly suited to Monaco’s hot summers. Standout dishes include Foie Gras with Candy Flos and a dessert of Dim Sum made with tropical fruits! Ravin’s cuisine has received universal acclaim since the restaurant opened and he has been awarded one Michelin Star! The interior is stylish, light and airy but the most coveted tables are on the terrace and offer stunning views over the Mediterranean. Blue Bay offers surprisingly good value for Monaco with exquisite tasting menus available from €88 per person. Watch the wines though as they can do some serious damage to the wallet!
Le Blue Bay, Monte Carlo Beach Hotel, 40 Av. Princesse Grace, 98000 Monaco – Tel. +377 98 06 03 60
Venice comes to Monaco via Mayfair and New York City… Cipriani offers classic Italian cooking in a fun and wonderfully glamorous atmosphere. Arriving at this restaurant, you will be greeted by a parade of Bugattis and Bentleys being dropped off with the valet by ultra chic diners. The menu will be instantly recognisable to anyone that has visited a Cipriani restaurant before. Standout starters include the stellar King Crab Salad and the delightfully simple “Pasta e Fagioli”. Mains are all the Italian classics, fantastic grilled fish, meat and of course truly exceptional pasta! You have not lived until you’ve tried “Tagliardi with veal ragù”! The dessert menu is delivered “live” at the table with all the sweet delights paraded around your table in a swirl of waiters’ arms! This is Italian restaurant theatre at its’ best and it works very well in Monaco! Cipriani Monte-Carlo is owned by the equally flamboyant Flavio Briatore, one time owner of the Benetton F1 team and longterm resident of Monaco. Briatore also owns the excellent Twiga nightclub nearby and it is here that many diners head to after dinner at Cipriani. Located under the tunnel that you’ll instantly recognise from the Monaco Grand Prix, Twiga offers a fantastic waterfront location to enjoy a glass or six of champagne and sets from the world’s superstar DJs, the glimmering lights of assembled superyachts providing a stunning backdrop! Twiga is without a shadow of a doubt the best nightspot in the Principality of Monaco!
Cosmopolitan is an excellent restaurant in the vibrant Rue du Portier area of Monaco. This delightful establishment utterly disproves the theory that it is impossible to eat in glamorous surroundings in Monaco without breaking the bank! Cosmopolitan is owned by an Italian/British couple and that is reflected in reflected in the menu, superb Squid Ink Pasta sits comfortably alongside Roast Beef and Fish and Chips! The food is consistently good and offers exceptional value for money in this prestigious location. Guests can dine either inside in a modern, funky interior or outside on a fabulous terrace enjoying the parade of supercars that are a constant feature in this street!

The French Riviera yacht charter experience is widely regarded as the definitive expression of Mediterranean luxury. Stretching along France’s glittering Côte d’Azur, the French Riviera remains the most sought-after destination in the world for a luxury yacht holiday. Year after year, discerning travellers return for a French Riviera yacht charter, drawn by its flawless climate, spectacular coastal scenery and legendary resort towns that define timeless glamour.
A French Riviera yacht charter offers an unrivalled combination of sophistication and variety. From the iconic harbour of Saint-Tropez to the cinematic elegance of Cannes and the unmistakable prestige of Monaco, each destination delivers its own distinct character while remaining seamlessly connected by sea. Cruising this coastline aboard a private yacht allows guests to wake each morning in a new world of beach clubs, Michelin-starred restaurants, designer boutiques and exclusive waterfront events.
The appeal of a French Riviera yacht charter lies not only in its glamorous ports but also in its natural beauty. Hidden coves, turquoise bays and pine-fringed beaches offer tranquil anchorages just moments from the vibrant social scene. Whether enjoying watersports off the coast, lunching at a world-famous beach club or dining under the stars on deck, a French Riviera yacht charter balances excitement with serenity in effortless style.
It is often said that the original is the best — and nowhere is this more true than on a French Riviera yacht charter. As one of the first regions to define the modern luxury yachting lifestyle, the Côte d’Azur continues to set the standard. Even the most seasoned charterer finds fresh inspiration here each summer, as the Riviera evolves while retaining its iconic charm.
From glamorous marinas filled with superyachts to quiet Mediterranean anchorages bathed in golden sunset light, the French Riviera yacht charter remains the crown jewel of European yachting. For those seeking sunshine, prestige and unforgettable coastal cruising, the French Riviera is — and always will be — the ultimate destination to enjoy time aboard a truly fabulous yacht.
The French Riviera yacht charter season runs from May through to the end of September, marking the most vibrant and glamorous period along the Côte d’Azur. A French Riviera yacht charter traditionally begins in style with the world-renowned Cannes Film Festival in mid-May and continues through a summer of high-profile events, culminating in the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show in late September. These iconic occasions define the rhythm of the French Riviera yacht charter calendar, attracting superyachts and international guests from around the world.
One of the key reasons a French Riviera yacht charter remains so popular is the exceptional Mediterranean climate. Long, sun-drenched days and temperatures typically ranging from the mid-twenties to low thirties Celsius create perfect conditions for life on deck. While occasional thunderstorms may appear, they rarely linger, and even the famous Mistral winds are usually short-lived. As the season progresses, the Mediterranean Sea gradually warms, reaching its most inviting temperatures in late summer, making swimming, snorkelling and water sports an integral part of any French Riviera yacht charter experience.
July and August represent the peak of the French Riviera yacht charter season. During these months, destinations such as Cannes, Monaco and Saint-Tropez are at their liveliest, with marinas filled to capacity and an electric atmosphere ashore. Berths are highly sought after and must be secured well in advance, meaning many yachts choose to anchor just outside the ports or off the region’s famous beaches. For many guests, this is part of the allure of a French Riviera yacht charter — enjoying sunset cocktails at anchor while the coastline glows in the evening light.
Ashore, the summer buzz is unmistakable. Restaurants are fully booked, beach clubs are in full swing and the roads are busy with visitors eager to experience the Riviera’s legendary lifestyle. Yet even at its busiest, a French Riviera yacht charter offers a sense of freedom and exclusivity that cannot be matched by land-based travel. Whether anchored in a secluded bay or moored in the heart of a glamorous port, the French Riviera yacht charter season delivers an unrivalled combination of climate, culture and coastal prestige.
If you are planning a French Riviera yacht charter during the peak months of July and August, forward planning is essential. Demand for a French Riviera yacht charter is at its highest during these summer weeks, meaning the finest yachts and the most desirable marina berths are secured well in advance. By booking early, you not only enjoy the widest selection of yachts, but your yacht charter broker can also reserve prime berths in sought-after ports and arrange priority reservations at the Riviera’s most exclusive restaurants and beach clubs — from Saint-Tropez to Monaco.
During high season, iconic marinas such as Port of Saint-Tropez and Cannes operate at full capacity, and last-minute berths can be extremely difficult to obtain. A well-organised French Riviera yacht charter ensures seamless access to the ports, beach clubs and fine dining experiences that define the Côte d’Azur lifestyle. Advance preparation transforms a busy summer calendar into a smooth and indulgent charter experience.
If your schedule allows flexibility, however, the very best time for a French Riviera yacht charter is arguably during the shoulder months of June and September. These off-peak periods offer the same glorious Mediterranean climate — long sunny days and warm seas — but with noticeably fewer crowds. Ports are quieter, making it far easier to secure a prime berth position in Saint-Tropez or Cannes, and restaurants are less pressured while still maintaining the vibrant Riviera atmosphere.
A French Riviera yacht charter in June or September provides the perfect balance between energy and tranquillity. Beach clubs remain lively, the sea is ideal for swimming and water sports, and the overall pace feels more relaxed and refined. As an added advantage, many luxury yachts offer considerably lower charter rates during these months compared to the peak July and August season, delivering exceptional value without compromising on experience.
Whether you choose the height of summer or the elegance of the shoulder season, a French Riviera yacht charter rewards careful planning. By thinking ahead and selecting the right dates, you can enjoy the very best of the Côte d’Azur — prime berths, exclusive reservations and unforgettable cruising — all in effortless Mediterranean style.
Here are some key yacht charter destinations on the French Riviera:
Antibes
Port Vauban in Antibes is the Mediterranean Superyacht Capital and home to some of the world’s largest yachts. As so many yachts are based in Antibes, it is highly likely that your charter may begin here. The Old Town of Antibes is a maze of beautiful medieval streets with great restaurants and cafes. Antibes also has an excellent Provencal Food Market. A visit to the Picasso Museum in the Château Grimaldi is highly recommended!
Recommended Restaurant:
Les Vieux Murs – 25 Promenade Amiral de Grasse, 06600 Antibes, France
Excellent French cuisine in a beautiful location on the ramparts of the Old Town of Antibes.
The name says it all! Beaulieu-sur-Mer is a very beautiful little town to the east of the Cap Ferrat peninsula. Beaulieu-sur-Mer has a fantastic marina that can accommodate yachts up to 30m in length.
Recommended Restaurant:
The African Queen – Port de Plaisance, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, France
By no means the finest food available on the French Riviera, but a great atmosphere on offer here. The African Queen has been an institution in the South of France for years and attracts many famous faces. Well worth a visit if you decide to visit Beaulieu on your yacht.
Cannes is perhaps the most famous of all destinations on the French Riviera, well known for its’ annual Film Festival and the palatial hotels that line the Boulevard de la Croisette that runs along the seafront. Berth your yacht in the Port of Cannes and explore Le Suquet, the historical part of Cannes that occupies the hillside next to the port.
Recommended Restaurant:
Mantel – 22 Rue St Antoine, 06400 Cannes, France
Fabulous modern French cuisine in this beautiful restaurant in Le Suquet. Highly recommended!
Cap d’Ail is a French town that borders the Principality of Monaco to the east. There are really two parts to Cap d’Ail, the modern Port of Cap d’Ail right on the border with Monaco and the beautiful residential peninsula to the west that is home to some of the most impressive villas on the French Riviera. Cap d’Ail is also home to Plage Mala, one of the most beautiful beaches on the French Riviera. Plage Mala is a stunning anchorage and very popular with yachts of all sizes. There are two beach clubs at Plage Mala, both of which will collect you from your yacht by dinghy and take you ashore for a long, lazy lunch.
Recommended Restaurant:
Eden Plage – Plage Mala, 06320 Cap d’Ail, France
Beach restaurant in the most stunning location at Plage Mala. Food is not amazing but the atmosphere is great and views are to die for!
